Events
Throughout the semester we hold speaker events, panel discussions, film screenings, and debates both on our own and in collaboration with other GU groups, programs, and departments. In addition, we hope to explore bioethics beyond our undergraduate experiences by holding career conversations with scholars, researchers, policymakers at federal agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and with faculty at Georgetown resources such as the Public Policy Institute and the Kennedy Institute of Ethics. We also hope to organize visits to these institutes, agencies, and research labs to better understand the work that takes place in those settings. Additionally, we plan to attend public hearings of bioethics-related advisory boards and events with experts speaking on bioethics topics that occur at Georgetown and in the DC Metropolitan area. Finally, we want to make the membership aware of opportunities for undergraduates to present, write, and learn about bioethics and to participate as we are able to do so as individuals or as a group.
