Samuel is a senior Biology of Global Health major from CT. He is looking forward to joining an MD/PhD program this summer and ultimately hopes to pursue research in epigenetics and clinical work in oncology. Outside of the laboratory, he enjoys reading, playing soccer, people-watching, and cheering on Hoyas basketball. Engaging in unique intersections with students from the International Health and STIA programs, he has developed a keen interest in global hunger issues. He is excited about the NUBC and its focus on interactions between the environment and health.
Nicole is a sophomore Biology of Global Health major in the College. She is a pre-medical student, and hopes to eventually become a physician, potentially in the field of oncology. This past summer Nicole interned at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center aiding in melanoma mutation research. Nicole is interested in the important role that ethics plays in our continually progressing society as we better understand and explore new scientific technologies.
Mary Clare is a junior Biology major and Bioethics minor in the College from San Jose, California. This is her second year as an officer for UBS and she is excited about NUBC this spring! At Georgetown she is a member of GUMSHOE and has enjoyed tutoring middle school and high school students in math and science. This past summer she participated in the Translational Health Science Internship program in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she visited pediatric hospitals and participated in research at Infant Foundation. She is interested in bioethics and how biology continues to be shaped by the ethical decisions that we as a society must face in the present and for the future.
